Lone Worker Health Assessments
Who are lone workers and what jobs do they do?
Lone workers are those who work by themselves without close or direct supervision.
Is the person medically fit and suitable to work alone?
It is important that a business ensures a person is safe to do their job. For lone workers a risk assessment should be done which would include checking that lone workers have no medical conditions which make them unsuitable for working alone.
Following a paper screening questionnaire with a follow up phone call if required, our occupational health advisors would consider both routine work and foreseeable emergencies which may impose additional physical and mental burdens on the individual.
The occupational health certificate provided would then identify hazards specific to the individual, and recommendations as to the best way in which to deal with these.
